What's new . . . .

The PMA tradeshow in the USA is currently taking place so here is summary of some of the latest news and product announcements.

Sandisk
SDXC (extended capacity) cards are shortly going to be available with Sandisk releasing a 64GB capacity SD card offering class 4 speed and max data transfer speed of up to 15MB a second.

Sony
Sony are planning to release a new digital camera and range of lenses to compete with the popular micro Four Thirds cameras such as the Olympus PEN. The replacement to the popular A700 SLR is also on the horizon with the ability to shoot AVCHD video amongst it's features. Sony also have a new range of Cybershot cameras imminent including the waterproof TX5.

Sigma
Sigma have been busy working on their range of lenses and have added image stabilisation to some of their most popular lenses (50-500mm F4.5-6.3, 17-50mm F2.8 and 70-200mm F2.8).New lenses include an 8-16mm F4.5-5.6 DC lens designed with APS-C sensors and an 85mm F1.4 featuring FLD glass developed with filter manufacturers Hoya.

Panasonic
The ever popular Lumix range of digital compacts gets a make-over with the release of 12 new models.
